WHO ARE WE?
The Seaforth Kindergarten is a highly valued Early Learning Centre, trusted by families across generations. Many enrolments come through word-of-mouth, reflecting our strong reputation in the local community. What sets us apart is our team of experienced primary and ECT trained teachers, delivering a robust educational programme and specialised school readiness curriculum.
With three age-appropriate rooms, tailored learning environments, flexible hours and approved Child Care Subsidy (CCS) support, we’re here to make quality early learning accessible and convenient for all families. We provide engaging, nurturing experiences that build confidence, curiosity and essential skills for school readiness.

The Seaforth Kindergarten offers two attendance options to suit your family’s needs:
8:00am – 4:00pm or 8:00am – 6:00pm.

We welcome enrolments from the Northern Beaches and surrounding areas.
We are proud to be a feeder kindergarten for local primary schools in Seaforth, Balgowlah Heights, North Balgowlah, and surrounding schools within the Manly Warringah areas.
The Seaforth Kindergarten was founded by Joanne Lennard, who owned and led the service for more than four decades.
From the outset, Joanne established not only an intentional educational programme, but also a warm, nurturing environment where children felt safe, valued and supported, and where families felt genuinely connected to their child’s learning journey. Her approach focused on the whole child, with thoughtfully designed experiences that supported physical, social, emotional and cognitive development.
OUR STORY
This purposeful and consistent philosophy earned the trust of generations of families. Today, we proudly welcome second- generation families - parents who once attended Seaforth Kindergarten and who now choose to enrol their own children. This enduring connection reflects the strong relationships, sense of belonging and quality that continue to define The Seaforth Kindergarten.
Following Joanne’s retirement in 2022, stewardship passed to Jeff and Helen Sun, experienced Early Childhood professionals committed to preserving the integrity of the programme, while strengthening quality, governance and meaningful family engagement. They continue to prioritise authentic partnerships with parents, recognising that collaboration between home and kindergarten is central to each child’s wellbeing and success.
Continuity at The Seaforth Kindergarten is further strengthened by the long-standing leadership of Melanie Robertson, Nominated Supervisor since 1998, who continues to uphold consistent practices, prioritise child-safety and supports positive outcomes for children and families.
Our team includes primary school trained educators who intentionally prepare children for school readiness within a supportive, nurturing setting. Through a balanced programme combining play-based learning and intentional learning experiences, children build early literacy and numeracy skills, independence, resilience and confidence. With a clear understanding of primary school expectations, our educators guide each child towards a smooth and successful transition to formal schooling.
